People Tracker 1.0

Calibration

We recommend you calibrate People Tracker at least every three months. This enables the system to adapt to any seasonal changes to temperature, humidity and air pressure.

During calibration, People Tracker adjusts itself by comparing a person’s real position against the one given by the sensors. The system tells you when it achieves the required level of accuracy, bringing the calibration to an end.

The task requires two people: one to operate the software; and another, the “subject”, to move to different targets around the room.

To calibrate People Tracker

  1. Select Maintenance, Calibration to open the Calibration Options window:

  1. Fill in the Calibration Options:
Subject (optional): Height and Weight help the system place the subject with increased accuracy.
Additional Room Details (optional): Enables the system to filter out false signals, e.g. sound bouncing off the ceiling.
Accuracy: People Tracker tries to place a person within this distance of their real position. The smaller the distance, the greater number of targets required.

  2. In the Calibration Options window, click Calibrate Mode.
The People Tracker window (see above) opens in Calibration Mode, with an 'X' indicating the first target, usually one corner of the room:

  1. Ask the subject to walk to the target. When they reach it, click On Target
A new X appears, marking the next target.

  2. Repeat step 4 until a message announces that calibration is complete.
(You can stop at any time by closing the Calibration Options window.)
